General Research
General Research was founded in 1993 by Kobayashi Setsumasa. The focus of the brand was not about fashion or trends, but more about everyday living. Inspired by military and workwear, the brand focuses on practicality, durability, and understated elegance, often incorporating modular elements like detachable pockets and adjustable straps. In 2005, Kobayashi changed the name of the brand to Mountain Research.
