Autumn Winter 2001 "Win A Cow Free" Pop-Up Figurines
In 2001, General Research had a pop-up to relay its political message; in this pop-up, dead cows hung up inside a refrigerator sat alongside the merchandise for sale. Attached to the listing are screenshots of this pop-up archived from VHS tapes.
For sale is a set of two of these cow figurines with the text, "WIN A COW FREE" at the bottom of them.
COW BOOKS was later founded in September 2002 by Yataro Matsuura and creator of neighboring General Research’s Setsumasa Kobayashi, COW BOOKS can be said to be the neighborhood’s landmark.
