Background:
"STS-110 (Space Transportation System 110) flew aboard Atlantis from April 8–19, 2002, with a seven-person crew: Commander Michael J. Bloomfield, Pilot Stephen N. Frick, Flight Engineer Ellen Ochoa, and Mission Specialists Steven L. Smith, Rex J. Walheim, Jerry L. Ross, and Lee M.E. Morin. The primary objective was installing a 43-foot S0 Truss segment on the ISS, the backbone of the station's truss structure, serving as the 8th ISS assembly flight. Four spacewalks completed the task. Notably, Mission Specialist Jerry Ross became the first person to travel to space seven times, and the mission debuted the upgraded Block II main engines, enhancing reliability and safety. Atlantis landed at Kennedy Space Center after just under 11 days in orbit!"
